What is Opus
Opus is the University of Sasaktchewan's startup incubator.
We are here to help mobilize innovation on campus by helping innovators transform their ideas into solutions by working together to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the process of developing their innovation and bringing it out into the world.
For USask faulty, students, and staff who:
- are interested in exploring entrepreneurship
- have a business idea
- want to develop business skills to further enhance their research

History
First established in 2021, Opus was created out of Innovation Mobilization and Partnerships, a unit of the Office of the Vice-President Research, as the University moved to an inventor-owned model of intellectual propery. USask being a research-intensive university recognized researchers could benefit from entrepreneurial programming designed to help them take their research to the next level by bringing their research to the community and/or through building a business or startup venture.
